Assalamualikom. My name is Sakina; I am four years old and my father’s name is Hussain…

His name was Hussain, but he is in heaven now because some of the rulers didn’t like him or any of our kind.

Even though I am only four, my big brown eyes have seen too much. Too much hatred, too much blood, too much death. My brave, big brother gave his life to protect our family. The cruel, dark-haired, serpent-like solders carelessly killed without any fear.

I am the daughter of Hussain and I am here to tell you it’s not too late, together we can still make a difference… because my Karbala is here and now in 2022. My Karbala is Yemen and together we can STILL make a difference.
