Writen by Azhar Hussnain, General Secretary of Scottish Ahlul Bayt Society [SABS]:
With your Duas, on Wed 2nd March, the Scottish Ahlul Bayt Society held an event within the Scottish Parliament attended by 300+ people comprising the most high-profile cross-section of civic, governmental, military, diplomatic and religious leadership Muslims have engaged with in Western Europe.
The First Minister of Scotland, Nicola Sturgeon, spoke at the event along with others. Notably as part of her speech, the First Minister said that our “work to encourage blood donation has had a hugely positive impact”.
And, Mary Morgan, the Director of the Scottish National Blood Transfusion Service [SNBTS], spoke there and praised the partnership the Scottish Ahlul Bayt Society has with the SNBTS in relation to the Islamic Unity Society’s National Imam Hussain Blood Donation Campaign.
Alhamdulillah, the Imam Hussain blood donation campaign is truly taking root here, and has now received praise from Scotland’s head of state and the Director of the SNBTS in the presence of a high-level assemblage, in the national parliament.
