About this Event

Strength and Empowerment: A series of workshops to help improve your psychological well being and boost your self confidence

Workshops will include:

  1. Health and Wellness – Sr Annie Shamsie, (Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist and Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society)
  2. Leadership and Influence – Sr Robina Shah (Chartered Psychologist and Honorary Lecturer University of Manchester)
  3. Communication, contentment and mindfulness – Dr Faheem Naqvi (Psychiatrist and Member of Royal College Psychiatrists)

Speaker profiles

Annie Shamsi is a Chartered Health Psychologist and Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society. She works as a Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist in the NHS. She is a former lecturer on University of London undergraduate and postgraduate Psychology degrees programmes.

Dr Faheem Naqvi is a Psychiatrist based in Manchester. He studied Medicine at The University of Liverpool and is an MRCPsych member of the Royal College of Psychiatry. He has special interests in General Adult Psychiatry, Adolescent Psychiatry, Transcultural and International Psychiatry, Medical Education as well as Management and Leadership.

Dr Robina Shah is Senior Lecturer and Director of the Doubleday Centre for Patient Experience at The University of Manchester. She is also a Consultant Chartered Psychologist. Awarded MBE for services to research regarding disabled children and an Honorary Fellowship from the Royal College of General Practitioners in recognition of her contribution to medical education and the NHS. Robina chairs the RCGP Patients and Carers Partnership Group UK and sits on national and international strategic committees for the Department of Health, General Medical Council, World Health Organisation and Health Education England.
