In the last few years, the Islamic Unity Society (IUS) and the Rehana Foundation (Charity Number RP/6682/5/113945) have worked in partnership to provide relief to the flood affected peoples of Pakistan.

The “Mera Ghar” (literally “My House”) project has already raised over £13,000 and provided 28 new houses for flood-affected people of District Layyah. To read more about this project please click here to view a pdf.

The Al-Qaim School Project

The Rehana Foundation and IUS are continuing to support the people of District Layyah through the Al-Qaim School Project. The children of Basti Sarghani (rural village within in District Layyah) lack the funds and means to commute to established government and private schools in the region. At present there is a makeshift building, known as the Al-Qaim school providing education for around 120 children.

However, it lacks a safe infrastructure and basic facilities such as lighting, electricity, desks or chairs.

If you donate to this cause you will help provide the following basic features:
  1. A roof – to provide shelter from rainwater and heat
  2. Classrooms – 6 classrooms are planned to create separate classes
  3. Electricity for lighting and electric fans
  4. Furniture including desks and chairs
  5. Stationary and books
  6. Toilets
  7. Drinking water coolers
These children deserve an education; it is one of their basic rights. The rewards for supporting this project will perpetuate beyond our lifetime; inshallah.
